Academic Scholarships at Gilmore

At Gilmore, we believe that individual student 's achievements should be recognised and rewarded. We demonstrate this by offering five Gilmore scholarships at years seven, nine and eleven. All scholarships are for two years for students who maintain an excellent academic record. Students can reapply for a further scholarship at the end of two years.

Scholarships for 2009 are not advertised at this time. See below for the criteria for scholarships 2008. This criteria will be similar. Scholarships for 2009 will be advertised later in the year.

Year 7 Academic Scholarships at Gilmore for 2008
|
For 2008, Gilmore will offer five academic scholarships of $200 each for Year 7 students. Students who maintain an outstanding academic record will automatically receive another $200 scholarship in Year 8.
Criteria for the award of scholarships will be demonstration of the student's talents in academic, leadership and sports/hobbies areas.

Years 9 and 11 Academic Scholarships at Gilmore for 2008
|
Five academic scholarships of $200 for students entering Years 9 & 11. All scholarships are for 2 years for students who maintain an excellent academic record. Students can reapply for a further scholarship at the end of the years.

Criteria for the award of scholarships will be demonstration of the student’s talents in academic, leadership and extra curricular activities.
Applications will be assessed by a panel of Gilmore staff and Council representatives and successful applicants will be announced by mid October.

We also encourage our students to pursue the many scholarship opportunities available to young women. In 2006, Gilmore students won:

- Selection into the UBS Bank Women’s Leadership Academy in Sydney- approx. $2000 value
- Western Chances Tertiary Education Support scholarships
- The Merlyn Myer Community Leadership Award.

In addition, many awards and prizes are distributed at our Annual Awards Ceremony. These include not only prizes for each subject area at each level but also ongoing scholarships like the very valuable Business Council of Australia Scholarship for a worthy VCE student.
